My son chose George because of the diverse academics, the diverse community, and the recognition he would be treated as an individual. He is in 11th grade now and has thrived here. His teachers have celebrated his successes, worked with him 1:1 to support him through challenges, and he has made lifelong friends. He is more confident than ever before. As a parent, I appreciate the warmth of the community and the passion with which teachers teach. While it is still a year and a half away, I know my son will be ready for the next step in his educational journey!

Rating 4 out of 5
George School likes to praise itself for its diverse campus, which is not a falsely advertised thing. At George School it very easy for people with different backgrounds and likes/dislikes to become friends and/or get along. If you take the time, you can see how different someone else's life is from yours. The school tries to be inclusive in any way possible, for example we recognize many different cultural holidays like Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Passover, etc. And since international students are mostly boarders, the weekend activities can vary between many different things. For example, LASSO (our Latin American "club") hosted a weekend where they taught different Latin dances and cooked and served different Latin foods. Although no school is perfect, if you leave the "bubble" of George there is a chance that you may get some discrimination from the local residents. But our Head of the School Sam has many days where he listens to concerns by students and helps best as possible.

George School is academically rigorous and tries hard to challenge its students, but it also facilitates an incredibly welcoming and supportive environment. I truly feel prepared for college, and I am so grateful for the opportunities and cheerful moments I've had here. I've learned so much about myself and the subject matters on my course listing, and I couldn't talk highly enough about my high school. The only thing I would change is my school's willingness to change in certain cultural aspects. As a Quaker school, George School is very outwardly open to change and respecting others, but many students of color report prejudice or microaggressions. As a white student, I could not speak on this, but I wish my school would enact more permanent change rather than simply claiming to be doing so.
